Cross platform tools

Since I’m playing with Ubuntu a bit inbetween my normal Vista working, I went on a quest to find tools that are cross platform. This should make it much easier to switch platform.. so here a little list I compiled.

Graphics

Gimp - http://gimp.com; Interface is almost userfriendly now.
Inkscape - http://inkscape.org; Should be part of Gimp.

Audio/Video

VLC Media - http://videolan.org/vlc;  Lacking in the media/playerlist area.
Last.fm - http://last.fm; Great for hearing new music.

Internet

Firefox - http://firefox.com; Nothing surprising there
Mail - http://gmail.com; Why not!
RSS Reader - http://reader.google.com; Does it’s job of feeding me.
FileZilla - http://filezilla-project.org/; Best FTP tool available!

Chatting

Pidgin - http://pidgin.org; Pidgin wins from Digsby because of crossplatform-ness. Also handles my Twitter, Facebook and Hyves accounts.

Office

Openoffice.org - http://openoffice.org; Yes it’s Java, but it has it all.
Google Docs - http://docs.google.com; Lacking features, nice for quick documents
RememberTheMilk - http://rememberthemilk.com; Todo list

Development

Codeblocks.org IDE - http://codeblocks.org; Only crossplatform IDE that works, not just C++!

Miscellaneous

Prism - http://labs.mozilla.com/projects/prism/; For running Gmail+Greader as applications.
